Thursday, July 10th, 2008Back Home
Tuesday, July 1st, 2008Hey folks, am back home.
It’s all good and well.
My blipfoto will keep on going strong on a daily basis.
Don’t you worry about that.
Arrival NYC
Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008Just arrived in NYC after a nice long overly air-conditioned greyhound bus. Reminder: will have to purchase a fur coat if I want to survive this greyhound traveling.
Spent the day pretty much walking around not doing much. Bought me a Lonely Planet USA and went looking for a longboard but unsuccessful.
Travel Starts, Now.
Monday, June 2nd, 2008Hi guys, as of tomorrow I will be traveling the USA by greyhound. I’m going to NYC first, for the last time here during my stay. Here I will pick up a lonely planet USA and a longboard. Will be checking where I will go next with the former, and will check things locally with the latter.
Defny going to South, Las Vega, San Fran, LA.
Possibly Vancouver if my traveling permits it, but not sure.
Will be back in NL on the 30th of June.
See you then, or see you soon.
Best,
Aaron

Friday, May 23rd, 2008Last Class is in the Past
Thursday, May 8th, 2008Howdy folks,
I just had my last class ever, that is, my last one in this American Studies Program.
I feel good.
To do before I am done here:
- One monograph comparison for America after WWII
- One paper for Edith Wharton in her Times
- One paper for American Modernism
Should be a real hoot and a holler.

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008Sunshine & Schoolwork
Saturday, April 12th, 2008I find it hard to combine my schoolwork with nice weather, folks. School is getting busier and busier still. I have about three papers to write varying in topics. One on Hemingway’s writing style. One on Jim Jarmusch’s Dead Man and American Modernism. And one on the after effects of Vietnam on America. That’s American Studies for ya.
Sometimes I really do not know why I opted for this degree. But hey, I’m only twenty-two so who cares.
Just looking at Harley Van Valen’s blog about his journey from nyc2rio. I (digitally) met him when I was looking up van Valens throughout the world. His website is inspiring.
I have decided I want to go to Japan after I graduate and study Japanese at the Yamasa Institute. I don’t know where to start my post-University-of-Utrecht life but this seems like a good start.
Will go to NYC tomorrow. Aim to arrive at about seven o’clock in the (Sunday) morning so that I can make some nice pictures of the city in quiet mode with nice morning lighting. I’m rooting for a bright day. It is looking good(ish).
